Suncor Power and Atco Ltd. are collaborating on a possible hydrogen venture close to Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., to assist cut back the province’s carbon dioxide emissions.
The businesses say the venture would produce greater than 300,000 tons of hydrogen per 12 months.
Suncor would construct and function the hydrogen manufacturing and carbon dioxide sequestration services, and Atco would construct and function related pipeline and hydrogen storage services.
They anticipated that 85 % of the gasoline can be used to satisfy current power wants, together with refining processes and cogeneration on the Suncor Edmonton refinery, which would scale back refinery emissions.
